Spotlight on Programs in Action

Congratulations to Streamwood High School teacher Matthew Erbach, named a state winner in the 2015 Samsung Solve for Tomorrow challenge, and will represent Illinois in the national competition. As a state winner, Erbach has earned at least $20,000 in Samsung technology for Streamwood High School.  According to Erbach, his winning lesson is focused on teaching energy management in a meaningful way to his architecture and civil engineering class.  Students learn principles of R and U value and apply them by analyzing homes in Streamwood with a thermal imaging camera, provided with training by Elgin Community College’s (ECC) Energy Management Department. Nice job Matt!
